A truly unique experience…
Golf Course & Practice Facility in Universal City, TX
Olympia Hills made its debut in February of 2000 and has maintained its reputation as a premiere, must-play golf course in the San Antonio area ever since. The 18-hole Finger, Dye, Spann Design Group layout is owned and managed by the City of Universal City, Texas. The course is maintained by the use of grey (recycled) water, which keeps it in optimal playing condition year-round, even in periods of drought.
Golf Course Features
The course features dramatic elevation changes on holes 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 11 & 13, dropping 50 feet or more from tee to green. The layout boasts naturally undulating topography, man-made mounds and strategic placement of bunkers. Bermuda grass and four sets of tees measuring 6,923 from the championship to 5,534 from the forward offer any golfer a fun and challenging game.
Golfers will enjoy native South Texas vegetation and wildlife throughout their experience on the course. “Olympia Hills offers great golf, some breathtaking holes and an encounter with some of the largest, most picturesque live oaks in Bexar County,” states Baxter Spann, golf course architect.
Golf Practice Facility Features
Olympia Hills also boasts one of the premiere golf practice centers in the San Antonio area. It includes a full length driving range with sculpted target greens and a 10,000 square foot short game area. This is an outstanding place to practice your short game, as it includes a putting green, a chipping area and a practice sand bunker.
